Finding Focus in an Overactive, Techy World

As a London-based company, we love our city. The hustle and bustle, the endless opportunities – both social and professional – and the overwhelming sense of history and culture that London provides truly is unmatched.

However, the amount of distractions – both dangerous and advantageous – can easily become overwhelming and we find ourselves craving peace and quiet, greenery or the comforting and rhythmic sound of the seaside. As our diaries fill up, it can feel impossible to find a moment of pure focus to hone in on our creativity. And even in our safe spaces, be it home or a studio, Instagram notifications and articles on why creatives should know everything about NFTs and the metaverse prevent us from finding that focus sweet spot.

3 Ideas To Future-Proof Your Content Marketing Career in an AI Age

AI-powered writing tools can simulate human thought in a way that’s both awe-inspiring and a little scary. However, they have a way to go before they can fully replicate human thought patterns.

How can content writers prepare themselves for a world that includes AI-created content?

Here are a few of the things you can do today to ensure your work and skills can’t be replaced by a AI:

  1. Learn how to use AI tools to write better content - AI-based creation-related tools can be a real asset for content marketers who know how to use them to their advantage. They range from writing functional, well-optimised content to boosting its development by completing tasks like writing meta descriptions and social media copy. Tools include: Grammarly; Can I Rank?; AI; and Jarvis.

  2. Train in content promotion strategies - You should know how to promote content as well as write it. That right there puts you a step above any AI-writing program. Promoting content requires an intimate understanding of your space, the audience’s pain points, and how your content and brand products address those challenges. Promotion really encompasses much of the same knowledge required for effective content creation. Great way to brush up on your content promotion skills is learning more about link building, content syndication, social media marketing, and search engine marketing (keywords).

  3. Generate demand - Viewing content creation from the perspective of its business function is essential. By thinking of it in terms of demand generation, you will better the content to the ultimate business goals. While creating the content, think about such strategies as lead magnets. Create e-books, white paper research studies, etc. Also, think about how to create content from other lead-generation tools, such as writing an article based on a webinar.

How the Growth of Drag Culture Is Opening up the Creative Arts

Drag in the UK has an interesting history. Despite Britain perpetuating a rather homophobic culture throughout the 20th century, many queer icons and drag queens especially were celebrated on TV namely Lily Savage and Danny La Rue.

In the 2000s and 2010s however, drag in mainstream British culture went fairly quiet, reserved for comedians adopting drag personas in skits such as in Little Britain. However, drag queens themselves weren’t generally celebrities in their own right.

RuPaul’s drag race is without a doubt what brought drag to the western mainstream in the 21st century.

This move into the mainstream for drag has inevitably had ripple effects on the creative industry from more daring, body confidant and genderless outfits to extra glamourous and transformative makeup looks.

Inclusivity in the Metaverse: Encouraging or Limiting?

The metaverse could become a great way for employers to recruit. VR chat and avatars have the power to enable users to present in any way they wish, from the way they look to the way they speak.

At a first glance this seems mostly positive, allowing all types of people to present their experience and identity with as much authenticity and accuracy as possible. However, concerns are being raised as to whether conducting interviews within the metaverse could really mitigate issues of discrimination in the process.
